Living and working in London, Pedro Alvarez goes backwards and forwards between personal projects and commercial photography.

With his use of colour and light, he shines a spotlight on intimate, unguarded moments, which appear incidental, but carefully crafted. There is often a sense of tension in Pedro’s work – a suggestion of theatricality.

Although based as much in real life the work reflects equally the photographer’s response to his own feelings and response towards the subjects, avoiding the potential veil of objectivity sometimes attached to the photographic medium.
